overlapping?

Hey all,

I was just wondering, what is the correct way to overlap objects ontop of eachother

example:

You are making a Roman warrior and moddeled the helmet seperately and want to stick it on him.

Do you just drag and stick the helmet into place...or are there any special steps needed so they move together if you are making a move????

Same question applies to making clothes or armor. Do you do it seperately, dragging the armor onto the figure...or actually deform the pixels(if using pixels) to make it appear the armor is on him?

I am still VERY green using Maya, only experiance is a little bit with AutoCad and very very little on Rhino.

Thanks guys!

The helmet should be added to the hierarchy of your soldier. Attach it to the head. If you are rigging your character, the armor pieces should be linked to the appropriate bone.

Cloth is a very different story, and if you're as new as you sound, you may want to learn to walk before you run.
