Hello there,

another new thread from me this time inspired by Tim_LIVID's Star Destroyer thread. Maybe I'll see this one through to the end before I get side tracked eh!!

Just a very basic shape at the moment, not too sure how I'm going to do this yet, I'll just go with the flow and see where it takes me.

What did you rekon to the movie Hellspawnuk?

I guarantee there are no 3 sided polys on the mesh (yet!), I think it's just the angle the model is sitting at.

I saw this for the first time today as well...it was very good, I like the cross over of Hi tech with normal guns. Plus Serenity was a hunk of Junk, just like the Millenium Falcon - Cool.

Joss whedon did a pretty good job of the script, it was a little slow to start but got going eventually and finished well with some good fx fight scenes and all the action (loved the space battle) but above all some good characters. Good humour too...

I got that movie for christmas its a real funky movie but funny and cool

Haven't seen the movie yet (and never seen the series :( ), but it should be on it's way in the mail... Model's looking good, nice and clean mesh :)

nice thoughts on the film, you're right Jay, Serenity is a heap of junk but very cool for it, there's a nice bit in one of the episodes where you see the captain buying her. I totally recomend watching the series if you haven't already, the humour carries all the way through, the only bad thing is that there was only one season made and it does kind of leave you wanting more!.

I've made a bit of progress, the engine got pretty much rebuilt as I wasn.t happy with it and I made a start on the wing. I've only done the top of it so far, the bottom is next on the list.

The model looks nice and clean so far. Keep us updated.

About the film though - I liked the special effects, but personally I thought the story and script was a load of rubbish. I found that there didn't seem to be much in the way of a plot, and I got bored about 10 minutes in. Other than that, I cannot really put a reason on not liking it. It's just not my cup of tea.

Its not the Calibre of The Empire Strikes Back which is THE ultimate sci fi movie (for me anyway) butwas still good

Hello folks,

Thanks again for your thoughts, I can imagine that the film would be a little slow for anyone who hasn't seen the series. I think Joss Whedon needed to make a film to tie up the loose ends that were created when the network canned the series, most of them were dealt with but it seemed that a couple of them were skirted round which is a bit annoying.

NextDesign, those are the very shots I'm using for reference, I have some schematic outlines too. Cheers for the thought though.

I agree Jay, not much beats The Empire Strikes Back for me either, one of the few times that a sequel outshines the original, is it fair to calll it a sequel though as they were written as one complete story and it was episode 5 anyway!?!

Here's an update, I've done the underside of the wing and made a start on the back/abdomen bit.
