Final Artworks "golden Coins"
I created this little image for a customer...all parts rendered with Maya and the internal maya-renderer...everything composed in Photoshop, including the shadows (therefore they seem to get the light from different angles at the same time)
hope you like it anyway http://bulletproof.euda.org/-=MAYA=-...ry=-/taler.jpg |
What you think by saying "everything composed in Photoshop"??
|
That each single element..starting from the chocolate disc, to the foil-coins, to the paper role is rendered as seperate objects with Alpha Channel. Composing them in photoshop, adding blur, creating shadows, making color corrections, creating the background.
that's what I've meant with "compositing" |
maybe i am boring or maybe i just don`t unerstend you but what have you make in MAYA?? Work i greate but i would realy whant too know how you combine PS an MAYA?? Thx in advance for having paicent for me

No Problem....I'm explaining it this way.
I've created the coin in the golden foil in maya, with shading network, textures. Added proper lighting and rendererd it out (with alpha channel). rotating the object a bit...render again...saved again. repeated that several time, to get several angles of the product. Made the same with the chocolate coin and the paper role that you can see in the background. opened all rendered images in Photoshop. Created a new document and pasted every single object. Now I started layouting the whole stuff..."...this coin in front..this in the back, this coin is hanging a bit over this one..." aso. Added the paper-roll as well. Now started adding effect like shadows under each single element....and shadows casted by one object influencing the other...for example when two coins are lying on each other..the upper coin casts a shadow on the one that's underneath. Finally made some color corrections....for a clean golden look...and blurred some elements, to let them dissapear in the background... Everything clear now ? |
Here you can see some of the single elements...

Yummy :)
Delicious work ;) |
Great Job!!
|
The foil turned out good...really loved it, when I saw it first..was kinda surprised about the render...the chocolate coin I still don't like...doesn't look natural..has this plastic look to it...however, the customer was happy, so I am happy as well...even if there are lots of things to improve...I'm perfectionist ;)

Can anyone give a quick explonation on alpha channels. Not to sure what they are.
|
@Z1:
Whell maybe i will make total idiot of my self but i think that alpha chanel is wjen you have your pick on transparent background!! Somethink like when you save tif in photoshop and check the box wich say save trancparency!! I hope thats it mate, but maybe i am totaly wrong!! |
yes....that's it...the alpha channel shows the transparent parts of a scene especially used in post production.
