Snap to Curve

I'm having a problem getting a cv to snap to a curve.

I cannot for the life of me get that little bugger to snap to the curve above. The curve i'm trying to snap to is part of a nurbs square, and the CV i'm trying to get to snap is part of an EP curve.

hold "C" and MIDDLE mouse click and drag on the curve... see if that works.

yeah what mike suggested shud work, the normal snapping method isnt very accurate

Just tried that and got the same result as before, it just doesn't want to snap. I can move the CV straight over the top of the other curve and it just won't stick.

Looking at the top of your screenshot, maybe you have deselected the ability to chose/pick vertices?

I cannot tell for sure, as I don't remember what the icons represent.

I Beleive he should first select the CV he want to stick to the curve, and then click on the curve, just highliting it, not selecting any part of it, and then drag the point toward the highlighted curve. Otherwise he could snap the CV to a edit-point, (snap to point) and then drag the point along the curve after he de-selected snap to point, and just enabling snap to curve..

That's what I'm currently doing. Probably incredibly ineficcient, but it works.

i sometimes get this problem as well, but this is weird cos mine usually just works again after a few tries

hold "c", drap on the curve with middle mouse button
enjoy...

I think that to snap to a CV you need to have vertices visible on both curves (select both objects and go into component mode-F8) Then pick the point you want to move, push "v" and middle click from the vertex you want to snap-to to the vertex you want to move.
I also thought that maya snapping was a pain but it is growing on me...
Here is something I have not figured out though: how do you move a whole object and snap one of its vertices to anoder vertex?

Here's the way i'd do it. Right click your curve, select vertex, right click your square select vertex. Select the cv you want to snap, hold down C and middle mouse click and drag on the "squares curve" until you get the position you want. I always find when you actually try to drag your actual CV it's difficuilt to get it snapping. It's easier to select your CV, hold down C and middle drag on the curve you want to snap to.
