Bezier Curves
I have never gotten quite to grips with Maya's spline/curve tools. Having used Illustrator for years and having gotten used to it's bezier curves I find Maya's curves a pain. Why are they so akward, why can you not have CPs with control handles like Illustrator.
I know this can be done cos they have this feature in Cinema and I find it MUCH easier. I mean when I want to create a right angle curve in Maya I have to click three times on the same spot, in C4D I shape it with control points. Is this something to do with NURBS or Maya's evolutionary background? |
Check out this link. It might be usefull.

Spot on! Cheers man, just what I wanted. What I want to know is why don't Maya do that anyway without having to buy it?

Because essentially, NURBS curves are not Bezier curves. The mathematical formula of each is entirely diferent.
You can emulate it thought with the plugin. (Maybe A|W will take notice of this) |
Ah thought so! Since you don't have true NURBS in C4D that explains why they have bezier curves and not NURBS curves... it all seems a bit curvey to me :D

Exactly! :D
Cheers mate. Have fun with the plugin. |
