Modeling Help Needed

I created a polygon sphere and a cylinder, then i used the bollean tool (difference) to cut some portions of the sphere with cylinder. The edges on the sphere are now very sharp; how to bevel them.

My tries;

1. I selected the edges then beveled them and then smooth the surface (not working); whole model got weird

what else !!!!!

Please help!!!!

before beveling you need to clear the history. i also usually triangulate the mesh, then quadrangulate it and clean it up. thats so every vertex has an edge.

As i am new to maya. Please give me a little detail of what to do. Thanks for reply.
I have saved that scene; dont you think when we save a scene
history deletes automatically?

Here is the scene. I will be thankful to you if you try to bevel it and then teach me how to bevel this objects sharcp round edges. Thanks.

go to modify>delete all by type>history

than go to mesh>triangulate
then mesh>quadrangulate

then delete the history again.

now select the edges you wish to bevel and hit the bevel button

I tried as you said but i am not getting even bevels on all edges.

Look at the model before i selected edges for beveling. How i clean up this model. Do you have any ideas for modeling it in any other way so that smoothing arc edges becomes easier for me.

Basically i am trying to model Alienware Xmorph WMP skin. Any modeling ideas or sujjestions thax. I am really thanful that you are helping me.

This is what i want to model

if you look at the channel box, make sure you see the bevel is selected.., and you will see 'off set' play with those values to change the intensity of the bevel., it might look completely out of control when you hit 'bevel' but go for low numbers in the off set.., depending on world size.., try '.05' '.005' that low.., see how you go, look up close to see you got a bevel and if you have and need to increase the size of the bevel.., make those off set numbers larger
M:)

i dont worry about triangulation.., and I wouldn't use booleans on this.., Id just use sub-ds or better for you.., polys and use the faces, edges.., what ever.., delete what you dont need, extrude what you do need.., ect

Is there Any special method for beveling an arc?

How to model an arc in a sub d cylinder?

you were right the first time.., I tried a few differant things and boolean is the fastest.

once you have you object cut , right click to 'edge select' pick all the edges where you want to bevel, you might try icking one edge and the 'select contiguous edges' (whatever its called,) when you find it, put it on your custom shelf, it comes in handy

anyway

from here

this is after i have click 'bevel' and in the channel box you can see the 'offset' is '.05' to make it more round add segments.., you can see where it is if you look at the channel box
