question about animating
 

im just curious though when you animate do things collide? for example if i have a character just slowly throwing a ball up and catching it. when the ball is in the hand, is there a way where you could make the ball grip into the humans hand so that if you animate the hand in a fast motion the ball will automaticly jumped out? or would you have to animate the ball when the guy is throwing it?

nothing automatically does anything in 3D. :) Pretty much anything you want to happen, you have to make happen.
