Modeling help cockpit in spacecraft

Hi everyone and thanks for all the help you've given me in the past I'm slowly making progress.

Ok here's where I need help as you can see from the following screen pics I'm building this spacecraft type model.

My problem areas that I'm thinking about revolve around the cockpit area. They are threefold.

1. Window Creation- is the best method here to create windows on my cockpit using a curve on surface, trim it out then make the curve planar inset it a bit and the fillet the two surfaces together? Will I also have to detach at the windows isoparm in order to shade it seperately from the metallic outer cockpit frame?

2. Cockpit Hinging- At the yellow selected isoparm I want to create a recess that goes around the whole cockpit. I want to use this area as a hinge point for the front winndow section so that the cockpit can open and close. Is it best to insert a few isoparms detach the surface then scale it in a bit then loft it back on, re detach the cockpit part so that I can position the pivot point, or is there a better way?

3. Cabin Creation- My cockpit surface extends into the fuselage. I know I have to trim this out and create a fillet of somekind between the cockpit and the fuselage but I'm clueless as to how to figure out the best way to create a cabin area inside the fuselage again keeping in mind that I want my cockpit animateable that is to open and close. Figuring this out will help me in creating compartments for landing gear etc...

Again any help, insight etc would be great. Thanks
