nice! The texturing seem to have a non-photo realistic quality to it. What was your goal in the texturing? Sweet video too! : )

kbrown 29-06-2004 12:07 PM

Ya, I'm still not pleased with the textures (nor many other things on this). It's pretty damn hard to get it right.

As you can see from the photo below, the changes in the texture and reaction to the light on a real apache are very subtle. At least for me it's a friggin challenge to get it right :/

jetduck 29-06-2004 01:52 PM

I know nothing of texturing yet.....but i did like the way you textured it in the video. I'm sure you'll get it down. If not chalk it up to your own sense of style : p

awesome vid!
Its funny because at the same time I started playing the vid, the fan of my pc laptop started blowing at max speed so I enjoyed some sound with the animation ;-)

Trying some other color schemes (only the main chassis part has a texture for now).

I know what you mean about the subtley of the texture . the way I see it is that for military machines there is basically no spec on the metal (That would glint too much in sunlight and alert enemies to their position I guess!).

I like the second pic it really seems to be working well.

A small update... There's still something that bugs me in this... Maybe I'll add couple of hornets in the background :)
