importing a DXF file to maya 4.5
 

Im trying to import a pretty complicated (as far as models in maya go) steel strcutural model to Maya, so I can render it, and make some nice images :)

but when i go to file>import> then select DXF as the file type, maya stalls out on me, and doesnt "respond"

the DXF file was made in Xsteel 6.0, and is about 23 MB large.

anyone got any ideas ?? I was really looking forward to this... if anyone can help, it would be veyr mcuh appreciated.
