Think I'll take a break from my Apache and give this a try. :)

Came across this image for inspiration, and I hope to create something similar to it.

hmmmm looks good man...kind Blade Runner feel to it...is it a drydock?

cheers bullet

Kinda looks like one, with a sci-fi feel to it.

But I'm going to go in a different direction, so here's what I have so far. I'm gonna fill it up with rooftops, with a combination of modern architecture and sci-fi. Started playing with the lighting setup, it might be a tad too dark, so I'll keep working on it.

crap man that looks damn good mate...yeh a tad dark but it depends on what you are trying to convey...I dig it...nice apocolyptic feel to it...though it could also just be demolition?? this looks promising

cheers bullet

Thanks bullet. Yeah, kind of going for an apocalyptic feel, but not completely over the top like you tend to see.

Been playing around with the lighting some more, I think it still needs some more tweaking, but I like the direction it's taking. I doubt I'll get this done in time, but hopefully I can get the modeling done anyway.

Changed up the lighting again, and I think I like this setup much more. I'll keep tweaking it as I go, and hopefully get some modeling done for the next update.

The lighting on the last one is good, makes it all look very ashen, post apocalyptic.....

I agree with Jay....looks like a volcano has erupted or something

Thanks guys, it might need a few minor tweaks still, but I'm quite pleased with how the lighting is turning out.

I added some basic geo for the buildings in the distance, to give it a bit of a sci-fi feel. Gonna start planning out the buildings in the foreground next.

I think this is looking fantastic, really looking forward to see this one finished

Its funny both my fav entries at the mo both have alot of fog and tall buildings. Very moody scene so far well done.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, much appreciated! Hope to have an update later today.

Here's an update. Added some more buildings to the distance.

I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with the foreground, whether to make the buildings sci-fi or modern and have them run down. Guess I'll just keep gathering reference and figure it out as I go. :P

bullet1968 13-03-2011 08:26 AM

Mate......I dont know what it is about your entry but...simplistic yet dynamic is all that I can say! I would maybe thin the fog JUST a little...not much...to give slightly better res on the buildings. I would put a few dead computers maybe in the foreground? or something similar....and..my thoughta only...just a single plant or similar to represent regrowth? either way its cool mate..I like it

Look great so far, I love apocalyptic stuff. The little pebbles add a nice touch to make it seem more chaotic.
