materials for mug/cup?
 
hey guys im modeling a mug/cup but the only problem is i dont know what kind of material should i use? should i use blin and fiddle around with the options or is there a material i could download which would kind of give me that hard mug effect but still has some shiny bits to it?

here is a picture im trying to get mine looking similar too, also how would i do that blue/white stripes also?

Id go for a blinn, with the freanell effect on the reflectivity, lower the ecentricity and up the specular roll off as this pushes the reflections to the edge giving it the glazed look.

You could create the stripes using a checker or a ramp (if you wanted to do it within maya

I'd suggest using a layered shader with a transparent blinn or two for the glaze.
