you DONT want me to do that to you , I promise :D

Well, its acceptable for a first head. Now, first off, a question: did you do this in ZBrush? I need to know before I can crit anything.

Joopson 21-05-2006 05:45 PM

i used Zbrush for the texture and bone definition, lol

oh, here is my bad wire, lol, but as i said, its not gonna be fore close up views, its for the flash game i am making, so dont say it needs edgeloops ;)

mc-fleury 21-05-2006 06:40 PM

i think it looks pretty cool for yuor first head.

Joopson 21-05-2006 06:46 PM

thanks!

It's a good start joopson. The main area that needs work is the bit where the nose joins the upper lip. Also the ears could do with sticking out a bit more.

Not sure if this is supposed to be a child, but at the moment the eyes are looking way too big for an adult. I would also try and soften the side of the temples and spend some time working on the jaw line in the side view. Lastly I think that you need to seperate the lips, not so that the mouth is open, just so the upper and lower lips are better defined.

Hope this helped.

thanks for the comments, it is suppposed to be cartoony, hence the big eyes, the model is based on the joan of arc refs, which are very cartoons(in the eyes) so that is why............ thanks all! i will work on it some more

zbrush is kinda easy to use and its pretty simple to model face in it but the most difficult, i thik is to model in programme where you have to create edge loop and where you have to start you model from nothing.
hope you know what i mean...
p.s. around the eyes truly need work.

farbtopf 23-05-2006 12:53 AM

I am not giong to crit this to death but if you really want I could forward this to my lifedrawing tutor, she would tear it to shreads like there was no tomorrow.
I think it is a good attempt for your first head. Having said that it does kinda look like a grumpy alien baby at the moment so if you don't want to have 7 hours of your life wasted on an unfinished looking model do what arran said, maybe look at some anatomical drawings.

good luck with it

Next time, don't even think about the word texture. If you're wanting to learn how to model a head, then "model" the head.

NeoStrider 26-05-2006 07:54 AM

beats the hell out of the head with the bloody eyes and the flame coming out of the back of the head :P

Joopson 26-05-2006 06:44 PM
