I wonted to enter this for the competition but wernt allowed so i thought i may aswell do it cos it will be a lot a fun.
Tips, ideas, help are all appriciated.

Could you use paint effects for the tenticles, or hair?

Hi,

I wanted to do a jellyfish a couple of months ago, so I went online for some references. After doing the initial body I ran into the same problem that you are having now: how to make the tentacles?

I googled some more and came across a tutorial that explained how to do exactly that! The PDF for this tutorial can be downloaded here:

http://www.blackorb.com/3dtutorials/jellyfish.pdf

It explains how to do the tentacles and also goes on to explain how to make a small animation out of it. This tutorial was written for an earlier version of Maya, but if I recall correctly I didn't have any major issues finding what I needed.

Hope that helped...
