Watch

Hi Guys,
Just thought I would post this up. Just a simple model for a bit of practice, its aminly going to be practice on the textureign and rendering with MR. Its my watch (its an old Omega that was my grandads) Should make a good bit of practice. Still need to model some parts of the strap and then rig it before going onto the textueing and rendering. |
texture away my friend anything from you usually excites me(though im still waiting for an animated short from guys of your calibre)
|
Rig it? Are u going to animate it or is that jst for posing? Are you going for a photoreal feel?
|
Cheers Guys.
Working on some VFX stuff using fluids for explosions (just seen the nuke FXWar which I might give a go) Yeah going for photoreal, I'm gonna rig it on the strap but mainly for posing, I might see if I can link dynamics to it to get it looking like its falling. |
Off to a good start, I'd like to see how it turns out.
|
Nice one! Hoping it will be a Patek Philippe, love their watches!
What rendering engine you thinking of? VRay? Mental? Jacques |
Looking good Steve, nice to see something a little different choice wise for modelling.
Another idea would be to rig the hands somehow so they turn in real time, the second hand would be pretty easy, but the hour and minute one might give you something to think about.... Then again I guess that's just a case of doing a bit of maths! Anyhow, look forward to seeing how you get on with it mate. |
Yeah the hand movement in theory would be pretty easy with an expression.
Jacques, I'll be suing mental ray for this I think. Just rendering off some stuff thats gonna take a while to do befire I get back onto this |
you'll be 'suing' mental ray? wasn't aware you could sue software ;)
nah i'm kidding, i know you meant using are all those little blocks on the strap beveled things? are they joint together? |

Haha, I might sue them if I cant get it looking good!
Yeah the blocks are beveled but not joined, I'm going to rigid bind then so I can pose it. Done the modeling now, need to pose it though. |
Nice work so far Steve...
