hypershading
 

i have the personal learning edition of maya and everytime I click on hypershade the program freezes and i have to close it. i've tried it like ten times and it does it everytime. please help.

This doesn't always work, but try uninstalling the program, and then installing it again. A file could have gotten corrupted the first time.
Check also to see if you have a virus of anykind that is interfering with program data.

you might also want to check your video drivers. if the first fails.

how do i check my video drivers? sorry, but i'm new to this stuff.

well if the re-install doesn't work. you re-install the video drivers. Look on the manufatures web site for the drivers.. they should have directions of what to do. Some cards are difrent form others.
