T-Rex

I've been gone a while.
I decided to do another Dinosaurs since I got good warm up practice on the Allosaurus. I'm going to try a new approach I am going to model the skeleton first. Then use that as a reference for muscles and muscles as a reference to model skin. This way the Dinosaur is anatomically correct. I will also be using zbrush for my first time on this project. This dinosaur is sort of a mix of the V-rex from King Kong and a more traditional t-rex like in Jurassic park or a discovery channel show. Anyway here are the bones. |

Also when I go to rig the creature I will already have the muscles and bones in place.

I'm trying to find any official archive of what muscles paleontoligists think dinosaurs had. if anyone knows a goo site let me know. Other wise I'll base the muscles on humans.

Not the best reference but all i've found so far is

ooooh is this gonna be animated? that would be AWESOME!
|
That reference is actually pretty good. What I don't get is why all the quadrecep muscle seem to originate from the pelvis. I thought only the rectus femoris of the quadrecep group did and the rest originated from the femur. Maybe dinosaurs are much more different than humans.
Yeah eventually I'll animate it when everything else is done. |
lol, are you some kind of med student?
|
No I just do lots of muscle research because I want to do character rigging as a career. It's just hard to find the kind of information I want easily. Lots of trips to the library and wikipedia research. Figuring muscles on a dinosaur is real hard since nobody knows exactly what they were and have to guess based on bones.
