I got the new Douglas Coupland novel the other day and it came with a cool little plastic figure, I thought I'd model him and make a little scene, my wife laughed out loud at it so I thought I'd spread the joy.

Enjoy,

Mat.

I think at one time or another we've all had to sit next to someone like that!

Cheers Keith,

Mat.

Cheers for your thoughts,

he is rigged already(albeit very very simply). There is an IK handle on each foot and the rest of the body relies on FK handles. I wanted to limit the movement to the same as what the toy is capable of but in retrospect the set up is not very good for animation! It'll be simple enough to sort that out by sticking in an elbow joint and a ball (for the foot).

I'll probably be doing more stuff with him in the near future, so keep an eye out for him.

Take it easy,

Mat.

Like everyone else, I really like this a lot. Good work happymat27. What are you planning on using this for?

And are you still working on your lamp guy? I really liked some of the environments that you were building for that project.

Keep up the great work mate.

Nice words gster and Slake, thanks.

I've had an idea to re-enact scenes from classic films. I made this one to test the water, for future ones I'll be modifying the head and clothing textures for each character in the scene.

Cheers again,

Mat.

edit: it looks like you sneaked that one in while I was writing this one arran. I've put Lamp Guy on hold for a bit, initially I was only going to make the character. I think I've got to work a bit harder on scene preparation before I jump into it again!!

thanks for asking,

Mat.

twisteddragon33 19-06-2006 04:13 PM

matrix sweet...

Can we do requests? Ide like to see a shot at the breakfast club.

happymat27 19-06-2006 04:23 PM

I can see where you're coming from with the matrix thing, I thought it myself when I was making it. It's reservoir dogs though, I knew should have changed the head texture on each figure but this was just a test run to see if I could do it so I couldn't be bothered.

I like the idea of requests and I'll definately look into one for the breakfast club for you twisteddragon.

Cheers,

Mat.
