character movements like sackboy LBP
 

Alright I'm working on modeling a character that is my own rendition of Sackboy from Little Big Planet. I've become obsessed with this game recently and decided to make my own 3d sackboy, and other characters which I have not started working on yet.

My question, how is Sackboy animated in the game? It seems like he bounces around and moves around dynamically, how do you go about animating a character in the style they used? Something about the movements are very interesting to me.
