how to model: chandelier section
1 Attachment(s)
hey guys. need some input. i have started to model a chandelier that is in my dining room and am wondering what you guys think would be the best way to model this section of a chandelier?
attached is a close-up shot of the actual chandelier (no that's not my modeling skills) |
i would say 2 nurbs for each curve thing one. bend it and make the end smaller - e.g. with an animated circle that gets smaller while going to the end (then snapshot and loft). done
but of course there is at least 100 other ways of doing it |

One of the other 100 ways to do it would be to take a nurbs sphere and use a few different deformers on it. If you know how to use them well, you can make fast work of this. |
Yea. I really could think of several ways to do that. Not all of them involve nurbs, but for a shape like that they are the best way to go.

OK, I'll get started on it and see what I come up with. Thanks for the input.
