HYPERSHADE DRAMAS
 

I've been on MPLE, and now I've purchased the new MAYA app. Problem is, in hypershade when i go to create a mental ray material such as the car paint phenom, or mia, i get an error warning - panel is torn off - and my model disappears in the render. Should i load something extra? does anybody know?

also, my diagnostics log gives me a 'no port connected' when trying to render my mental ray materials. im on MAC.
