Where? Maya Training...

Hello all...

I Am a 3D arstist for a while now. I live in montreal, quebec, canada, and wanted to get to learn the software (maya)...But...not using tutorials.

In other words i wanted to know if someone new a place where I could get a course on maya. I do not want a 3D class, i want to learn the software itself. I foud multiple 3D schools...but the are "art" schools...I want training like for example autodesk would do...but can't seem to find anything!

This could be in the form of a 8 hour class (training seminar) or an experience maya user in the region that could give this training.

Does anyone have a clue!?

Thanks!

there's a school about a mile from where i work, called Gnomon School of Visual Effects. from what ihear it's really good. i was tempted at first. but then i saw the cost and realized video tutorials are a bargain.

oh yeah, it's in hollywood.

yea gnomon has this maya fast track program which is suppose to teach you maya very quickly for those who think they need it in their work. you also get a little diploma that u took that course if you get above a C on the program. And yea its pretty expensive. roughly 10,000$ for about a month of schooling. But I would def go for the video tutorials as well. for roughly 1700$ you can get a whole digital tutors video tutorial bundle which will cover almost everything about maya and will definetly get you up and running.

Well I guess it will be DVDs...I've got a couple of tutorials 2 of them are from here actually...but I always liked to be able to ask question and get an answer right away...

I learned Lightwave with DVD also a while back. Guess it must work on maya too!!

isnt the fastrack program for specific area of maya and not just and overview?

but even $10000 for the month is crap. why not go for the 42k over two years.
