Rigid Binding & Smooth Binding

Hello, this is not a post about which method is better, cause this subject could go on for a pretty long time. I've search other sites and was hoping if I could get an answer or two. I'm skinning a character and was thinking about binding a character with rigid AND smooth binding. I wanted to know if anyone has tried this yet??? What special techniques or certain steps taht need to be done??? and most of all, has anyone experienced any problems animating with the combine skinning techniques???

Thanks for listening,

yes ive done it, i had this model which had legs which were just too hard to set up with smooth so i used rigid, it works ok but the only annoying thing is constantly having to switch between the two methods of weight painting

thank you, yes i'm planning to skin my biped character through smooth binding with the shoulders and pelvis, and rigid with the arms, legs, and torso. Hopefully everythign works out alright and animates ok. Thanks Nem for responding.
