I made this one in Max back in 2003 and it looks OK I guess. Now I'm doing it from scratch again aiming for more realism.
http://andreas.blazer.nu/getFile.php?id=102 I've completed the modeling except for the back and bottom. |
if you dont mind me asking where did you learn to use maxwell as in any tutorials you could point me at your results are amazing
|
DB your product visualization and hard surface modeling (and rendering) skills are superb!
Another great start to what is certain to be a jaw dropping project. |

ctbram, thanks for you kind words :)
anasasis, I didn't do any special tutorials for Maxwell. The manual is pretty god so I read that and I also read a lot on Maxwell's forum. I modelled the back. So just the bottom left to do and maybe some minor tweaks, then it's on to textuering and materials. |
Very nice modeling (as usual). I like the blue clay. I know it's juts for previews sake.... but hey ;)
Everything is looking nice and smooth. Looking forward to seeing the renders. I was thinking about picking up a copy of Vray or Maxwell, can't quite decide which. I'm starting to think that vray seems most apt when it comes to interior/architectural visualizations... and Maxwell seems to cover (well) everything else.... (correct if wrong) . Anyway, nice work. |
are all those little indents and holes actual geometry (well i assume the holes are at most)? if so can i see the wires?
|
cheers DJbLAZER
Just roughly what is the time on your renders thanx heaps for the heads up on the forums and the manual |

Chirone: Yes, everything is modeled, no bump or displacement on the renders, just a plain lambert.
anasasis: These was about 30 mins... but the render time heavily depends on the complexity on the materials and scene. But usually you get a good looking 640x480 image in 1-2 hours. Mayaniac: Maxwell does phenomenal interiors aswell. Haven't tried V-ray but my guess is that it's probably a lot faster but needs more work to get a good looking render. |

Some material tests
|
ah, wow, that's really cool!
wow...30 minutes for a render with a simple scene... i don't have the patience for such things so my hat goes off to you and anyone who uses maxwell this well what did you do to get the gold material? |
A couple of minutes is good for test renders though.
For the gold shader I took the chrome shader and modified the colors. |
nice work dude.........
|
So... I'm back after alomst two years :)
The textures are done, now on to the materials. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6909/beh1i.jpg http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/8347/beh2p.jpg |
