Nice work and so fast.............dave

Camrat 30-07-2010 07:55 PM

Cheers Dave :)

it would do you good if you will try and texture this, because then you will come to realise that you have to approach some modeling stuff a bit different in order to make Uv-ing and texturing a bit easier.
And it's just plain old good practice

Nice modeling though:beer:

daverave 30-07-2010 10:09 PM

are you talking about hard edge modelling mastone are you?

mastone 31-07-2010 10:53 AM

I am talking about modeling in general;
Hard surface modeling requires a different approach when it comes to how it ( and thus the texture) deforms then with organic modeling.
It would be prudent however to make yourself familiar with the workflow ( so that you know what the other guy has to do when you are done modeling, and maybe give instructions to the guy that hands over the concept art to you)

how do you get such kind of look in your models. I mean to say the white look with shades of grey.

Do you use dome light to get this effect.

Curious to know.

see camrat...mastone agrees..I think you should try and texture it too.......bahahahahah and you thought you could escape the clutches of UV mapping.

Camrat 01-08-2010 08:47 AM

Lol I see where you guys are coming from :) ill give it ago but ill just start on somthing simple :) like ps3 or chair haha, would i need to UV my base poly mesh or my Subd? im not sure where to begin. cheers

bullet1968 01-08-2010 08:53 AM

I never work in subs but the mesh isnt too hard, you have mostly rectangular peices so wont be too hard mate. C'mon give it a shot

cheers bullet
