Ocean shader...emm!

Maya's ocean shader is very nice but how does one apply a wake of a ship with crashing waves at the bow? Here is my unfinished WW1 Argus Aircraft carrier.
cheers guys.

You know, here at work, I had to mess with that darn thing too.

Luckily, I only had to do a still shot, but my boss wanted the same thing only with his logo going through the water creating a wake, and froth etc.

I read the docs on creating a boat sim, and I did everything right, but my logo just bobbed there.

I even keyed it to move, but it didn't move at all? Weird.

The right person with the right experience so far in terms of this would be KBROWN.

Feel free to ask him anything, he's a great guy, and an awsome artist/programmer!

Check out Kbrowns threads on this topic here:

And this book will lead you down the right path as well with a Perfect Storm tutorial from "Secrets of the Pros".
Check www.amazon.com or www.bn.com for it:)

Thanks for pointing out my threads, Rage.

I'm not using maya fluids in my stormy ocean scene and I'm not too familiar with the ocean shader either. I'm using an expression driven softbody nurbs plane as my ocean. This way I can create expressions to emit mist and splash particles from where I want. For the wakes I'm using force fields (attached to the boat) which are pushing and pulling the ocean surface.

After a long pause I've started working on this scene again. Soon I'll be tackling with particles again. Gonna post some updates in few days...
