Help :: Virtual Tour Tutorial
Hello everyone, I'm a novice Maya user and I'm planning to create a simple virtual tour on a small house. I do have a slight background using Maya, but I don't have enough idea/knowledge to start with this kind of creation.
Can anybody help me on the basic steps to go over with my project. Much better if you can send me some resources in the form of tutorials..video..pdf..etc. Thank you very much. |
do you have the house modelled i take it yeah?
What do you need help with? Cameras? Ok, appologies in advance if you know this or i misunderstood. I would create a camera Create > Camera Animate it by keyframing, then using tangeants to do camera cuts. Or you could attach a camera to a path, but i would then know how to create cuts (not that far ahead yet). Example 1 To create camera cuts, go to keyframe 1 position camera somewhere and keyframe it. (s key) Position the camera somewhere else. Again, keyframe it. Press play, and you'll see your cam move from a to b. We want to cut it. 2 Go to your timeline. shift select the 2 'ticks' you just created (it should go red). Right click the mouse, Tangeants > Stepped and click. Now play. |

Follow up details
Thanks for the reply.
For an additional details. I'd already captured the required images for the model house. Just want to ask some procedure on how can I integrate the images to complete the model. The mechanics of the virtual tour is driven by an arrow key to move on different directions and angles. Some objects must be clickable and be able to give a short information about it. I have only a limited knowledge about camera animation in Maya. Tnx again... |
ok, i appologise again, but im not sure i understand. is it for a game?
Otherwise im guessing this is a job for after effects sorry im not much help at the mo |

It is not for the game, it's simply a visual walkthrough that will be integrated into a personal website. Anyway, thanks a lot..I used also After Effects, and I'll just try it.
But if you can recommend me useful resources in the future, I would be grateful for that. Thanks again.. |
For a Virtual Tour I would do it in the following steps...
