Wakes and boats
Hi
I am trying to make a wake coming out from the back of a huge ship. However - i am having several problems. 1. When i make the wake to 'powerfull' ; the texture in my fluid shading gets distorted, with sort of 'big blue hulls.' 2. I need the wake to spread out, because that is what a wake does when it's coming out from a huge ship. ( If i just scale the fluid box up, the wake never shows up, no matter how high i crank the 'wake-size.' ) 3. I need only foam coming out from the wake and not the rest of the sea, but no matter how high i crank up the heat, like 100.000, it does'nt seem to be enough. ( I have set the foam 'main' attribute to about 300 / 350 ) 4. When i make the wake 'powerfull' the edges of the wakes become very 'hard', and the soft roundness of the wake 'disapears.' Anyone??? |
to fix the foam issue to to the oceanshape or pond shape attribute and turn content method temperature to static. Than in the wake attribute turn up the heat.
to affect the wake size or how it spreads you can actually scale the emitter itself. for the first and last question maybe posting an image may help. Hope this works out |
To wake or not to wake.....

Hi and thank u very much for ur reply
I think it is an annoying tool to work with - this wake. I am sorry. :banghead: I tried another sulotion which i am very happy with. It is a very heavy sulotion though - but i've got 5 servers with 4 processors each to batch render for me during the night - so who cares about the weight.:p I use the whole ocean as a wake - that way i also work my way around the 'cycle' issue. I have posted a quick IPR render - there actually is 3 oceans - 1 big and 2 small with other attributes; especially more foam ( Yes - i know about the problem with the 'tale' of the wakes. ) :bgreen: If u are interested i will send u a link with the final 'batch' render of the wakes and the ocean.....!! |
Glad to see that this worked out.
