Need help with brushed metal texture mapping !
1 Attachment(s)
hi everyone,
i'm trying to solve a texture mapping/placement problem for a simple metal logo. I created a polygon extrusion from an imported illustrator curve with bevel plus. works great and the mesh seams clean. I tried making the logo look like chrome or silver, with a procedural shader or shaders i downloaded online, but it didn't really work out. now i use a photo of a steel knife blade and it looks great. i have contrast modified versions for bump, specular and reflection and the front face of the logo is exactly how i want it to look. i can't figure out how to apply this same feel to the edges and the bevels and make it look like it is really a solid object out of one material any help is appreciated thanx pictures of the problem are at http://homepage.mac.com/chindustronik/PhotoAlbum3.html |
Have you mapped the UVs? Try automatic mapping and then sew the UVs in the UV texture editor...

maybe spherical mapping is better to get rid of the edges ?
but its for sure a mapping problem ... |
