Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Hey,

Me again, the resident pest. :) Okay, lemme ask this real quickly... I need to give this guy a pompodour and I'm not sure how to with his head like it is now. Do I make him a round baldie and just sculpt his 'do or can I basically "map out" where the hairline is going to be a build from there? I know PFX are the way to go and I've found a good tut on www.sharktaco.com on how to do it but even trying to apply Derek Flood's techniques to my character are gonna be tough. What do I do?

i still use poly clip map :)
just thought id say: is that burbary that character is wearing!?

Okay, I'm an idiot... what's a poly clip map? LOL! Also, burbary? Still clueless... If you mean the texture of his shirt, I found that on a pattern site somewhere. If you mean his head... still drawing a blank. LOL! Thanks! :)

polygons with transparency, color bump diffuse etc. i control it with sprigns / dynamics or whatever... depends...

And how does THAT work? LOL! That's just crazy talk, son, crazy talk! LOL! I know I still want the pompadour but not sure how to do it. so you're saying you don't use Maya Hair or PFX to get what you're looking for?
