Her's an image i like.

I don't know where it came from or who made it, but its pretty cool.

Pretty picture. Its CG, right?

LordPhobos 27-05-2003 11:42 PM

Looks like a Terragen image to me. The lighting is a dead giveaway that it's cg (looks like there is a really close spotlight on that background mountain).

Nice image though.

Looks like CG to me. And I would quess teragen also. But like i said earlier, I know nothing about it. Just came across it.

Yea, at 1st i wasent really looking at the lighting. Now that I do look at it, no question that its CG.

you can usually tell by the water. if it loks too regular and uniform. usually cg. very nice image though.

Looking at it more.. i think i could recreate that with bryce pretty eaily. all the textres look like variations on defaults in bryce...

TD, your right..I'm almost 95% sure That's Bryce...

i agree, bryce makes sense a lot. the lighting is a bit too complex for terragen if you ask me.

twisteddragon33 28-05-2003 04:27 PM

Far back left mountain, texture "sandy Beach"
For top right mountain "Sandy Plain";
change both primary color to a white tint make size about 50 for left mountain, 430 for right. water is called "Deep Blue" with diffusion increased.
Nearer mountains are dessert sand with sphere lights behind them at -20 output. sphere light about 50 units above top left mountain output of 40, no falloff, tint white, gel lens. sky is "tuesday Sky" with cloud cover increased to %60. Have tint purple.

I pretty close to recreated that in bryce before my computer messed up and i lost my picture. Too bad it came out pretty darn nice. Think ill redo it again now that i know what everthing is.

*i overloaded my comp, i shoud not have had lightwave and psp open at the same time*

LOL

I wasn't expecting anyone to try and recreate it. But if you do, I'd like to see it.

Have fun. :)
