animated environments
 

sup fellows,
how you guys doin? thanks for takin the time reading this,

was wondering if you knew where I could find animated environments especially for cities. I tend to use still photos of them as backgrounds but they seem to look fake for the shots that are longer than 2 seconds. Was wondering if theres some sort of effect or high res image sequences of city environments were the lights fliker on and off and the cars are moving and the clouds are moving. I don't have much time to learn a new program if there is one but maybe a free site of pre-made environments were I could get an image sequence would really be helpful. HOpe that makes sense.

you can make some cool nature effects with a program called Vue, such as some clouds, trees with wind effects etc

yea vue was on top of my mind but i dont know if i want to invest too much time getting used to it from the tryout version

use very big stills.., learn color correction (to make it look a part of the composited image) and the use of alpha channels.., stills are being used in feature film now.., done properly.., with say a 16K image.., and alpha masks.., you can get pan amd zoom that would be impossible even in helicopter. you can make 3D space ships fly behind hills and buildings.., its a technique but it takes ingenuity to do it on the cheap. if you want to do this.., theres no easy way.., unless graphics apps come easy to you.., its a stepp learning curve.., but what is important is to correct colour levels so that composited images dont look like cut outs
