need new computer for maya

its computer upgrade time im happy to build my own computer ive not realy got any thing in my current computer

so i'll be starting from scratch with about £700 to spend.

i've not upgraded for years so im out of touch with new graphic cards n such,

I realy just want a Maya/photoshop rig

in the past ive used ebuyer.com for my parts so over to you do you have any reccomendations? on what speeds and cards i realy shoudl be aiming for or cheap reliable shops
would like some input before i commit! thank you!

has to be pc not mac.

Think your best off looking at what you can get for your money and put a basic spec togehter, then ask the question about cards etc, so that you know what cash you have to spend.

also i tend to stay away from ebuyer as if not enough ppl order that item u could wait months for them to get it

for cheap new parts go to ur local computer fair i did spent around £700- 850 an i run fine
i got amd 3800+dual core
asus premium motherboard
2gig dual channel ram
250gb x2 hd
dual layer dvd burner
floppy drive
ati fire gl v5100

these places r dirt cheap buy all items from same guy an ull get even cheaper with 2-3 warrenty on each part

thats the best advice i can give

wow a floppy drive still? not used a floppy in years!

there are some friendly local puter shops and occasionly fairs coudl try i like the idea of barganing people down, but other people are paying so it might be a slight issue getting them there ..

Yo i was considering making a secondary cheapo PC as the old one died of old age...

Watching tomshardware.com always helps so based on their comment i compiled this component price chart that ill share with you:

warning you might not want to overclock the CPU and then u should seriously consider a better CPU (with more balanced fsb and all the secondary features this one lacks)
Also the nvidia card the deceased pc had was destroyed because of the fan getting completely brokenjust when the warranty expired (wich led to the core getting totally screwed) that explains the coice of card, you should consider a bigga one. all thats left is a case+powersupply and an HDD.

OPCION 2
OVERCLOCKEABLE A FSB180 Core 3600 Memoria 360 DDR2-720Mhz (se supone que es el sweetspot, consume 33watios mas)
Intel® Pentium® D Processor 805 134€ (N° Art.: HPFI04) http://www.alternate.es/html/shop/pr...?artno=HPFI04&
Asus EN7600GS Silent/HTD 7600 516mb 149€ (N° Art.: JBXV11) http://www.alternate.es/html/shop/pr...?artno=JBXV11&
Asus P5WD2 Premium (2x G-LAN, FW) 180€ (N° Art.: GPEA20) http://www.alternate.es/html/shop/pr...?artno=GPEA20&
Ventilador Zalman CNPS 9500AT 49€ (N° Art.: HPLZ10)
Kingston HyperX DIMM 1 GB DDR2-750, 99€ (N° Art.: IAIE7L)

YOU COULD CONSIDER ALSO MAKING IT A µATX PC in which case those products are interesting
GigaByte RL 3D Galaxy 119€ (N° Art.: HXLG20) http://www.alternate.es/html/shop/pr...?artno=HXLG20&
Asus P5LD2-VM µATX, sonido, Gigabit-LAN, SATA RAID € 114 http://www.alternate.es/html/shop/pr...?artno=GPIA05&
AOpen G325 (plata) 79€ http://www.alternate.es/html/shop/pr...?artno=TQXN21&

I believe the mobo should accept the chip and enable u to overclock it... but i wont take any responability if it doesnt XD
