My first Maya model (lowpoly samurai)

Hi,

I have wanted to do a game character for a while and have finally got off my butt and started. I would like some opinions about how I can improve, what I'm doing wrong that kind of thing.

It is about 2300 polys at the moment. (Triangulated). But I know that are some places where there is alot of wasted geometry. Like the back of the boots which you can't see anyway.

It is still in 9 parts as I have not stitched it together yet.

2300 polys?! and thats LOW poly? LOL, Just messing w/ya man. But yea, 2300 polys is low yea, but I dont think that many is considered "low". I think it looks pretty good so far tho.

the biggest thing that jumps at me is the hands seem awfully thin.

Looking good. I concur with Mike. The hands do look a little thin. Nice start!
