Reduce Nurbs wirefreame complexity on smoothed view
Just a quick one here. I'm working with a nurb object. But when I view it in high quality (#3 key) in wireframe mode, the wireframe is also smoothed/divided and is way too dense, making it very annoying to work with the base curves.
How can I have the low quality/original wireframe while looking at the high quality setting? The over complicated wireframe is redundant as you can't actually interact with it anyway. |
umm... nurbs dont step up in actual detail when your doing that. Its just shifting through resoultions for display, so working in one will yield the same results as working in three.
You should use NURBS in a very light way. try and achive a form in as few isoparms as possible. If its getting rediculously complicated then maybe rebuild your surface so its simpler, no matter how dense or light the control surface is the rendered surface can be of an infinite resolution. |
Maybe I haven't described my problem properly.
Try This. 1.Open a new scene in maya (2008 or 2009) 2. Create a primitive nurbs surface. 3. Go to Wire Freame View 4. Toggle through display qualities. (1,2,3) Notice how the displayed wireframe becomes very dense, but the actual control wireframe isn't changed. How do I stop the wireframe from getting so complicated in my view port? |
