normal vs. Parallax mapping
 
whats the difference? they sound the same to me...:confused:

They are very similar, I would say that it is a kind of mix between bump maps and displacement maps, well not actually disp' maps but a more realistic/enhanced bump map.

Give it a google, it seems to be a more accurate bump map tbh.

basically it says that bumpmaps are 1 dimensional... normal maps are 3 dmaensional
