Where is smooth proxy in maya 8?

hi guys . do you know where is smooth proxy in maya 8.? i see only the smooth under mesh, but i need the smooth proxy , it is great tool to use. but I can not see any more. do you know where the smooth proxy is?

in the polygons preset menu thing, go to proxy and then click on subdiv proxy.. it is smooth proxy
