joint orientation?
Hey, i have a problem and i've tried using the built in joint orient (in 8.5) and some old scripts for when maya had no built in option but neithers worked.
I have 3 joints in a chain. Now what i want is for Z axis to point to the next joint in the chain, and for all the X axis for all joints ot be parrelel. If you imagine the three points forming a triangle. Each Z axis would be an edge to the triangle, and the X Axis for each joint would be at exactly 90 degrees to the triangle. Is this possible without manually doing it? Its killing me trying to manually eyeball it. |
select all joints and hit
Display -> Transform Display -> Local Rotation Axes then open the Orient Joint Options Box and play with the settings. |
