Mouse shopping
1 Attachment(s)
I went mouse shopping the other day and was looking for a trackball mouse. I didn't find one. Anyone know a site to buy some from? This is what they usually look like. I like these because you never have to move your hand when navigating the net or when playing an online game. Plus, they take up far less space than normal mice.

It's a laser mouse, and unlike other mice which only have their own DPI (dots-per-inch, the way mice read surface-difference/distance), the G5 can change between 400 DPI (ye olde Trackball mice), 800 DPI (optic mice; typical), or even 2,000 DPI (laser-mouse). I cannot stand how ultra-smooth the 2k DPI setting is, so I keep it on the 800/optical DPI setting at all times. Even if you need percision when painting detailed textures, for example, you can set it down to the 400/trackball DPI setting. That aside, it has a cartridge you can insert into the bottom of it, in which you can place up to 7 weights, to...well...weigh down the mouse. I found a few mice if anyone's interested. They're quite overpriced if you ask me.

Sry about that. They're not being very cooperative. Copy and paste the url in your browser, and you'll see it.

Yeah, I dont havethe buttons switched, ie the left moise button, is the left button etc, its jut that I mode it about with my left hand, a lot of the higher proced mice are slanted to fit the right hand and when you use it in yor left it feels really strange! I use just a standard mouse, nowt fancy, was thinking of a wireless one but well never got round to it. |
It's nothing fancey as i've never really noticed the difference of a £70 mouse over a £25 mouse using maya or playing games, but i use this logitech trackerball and allthough the first week was really strange it's all i ever use now and feels quite comfortable.

Haha, Nice one John, left handed keyboard, never thought of that, its not as if I think that would be easier!
I wonder what using a left handed mouse would be like? might be like using a left handed fountain pen, a right pain! |
