production question

a quick question
having a stupid moment

in film making where does modelling and animating come in ie post or production

pre - storyboard ect
pro - filming
post - editing compositing

so where would modeling and animating come in i take it is post?

thx

post-production.

as most people would say "do it in post", i.e us!

modelling and animation can com in pre-production in the for of pre-viz. which is just proxy animation for a complicated shot.

Just regular production i think, in the end the models will be imported in the footage using flame/smoke /FCP/prod premium/fusion-take your pick-. which is post production:beer:

nooo - i can see both ways
as modelling is producing assets which is generally done in pro so im really confused atm

pre production - storyboard, funding, pre-viz, script, etc

production - on set filming.

post-production - colouring, comp, vfx

no they are all animations!

the line between VFX and feature length animations is not that fine imo.
