Hey, I will battle you if I am allowed to use 3D Studio MAX because I don't know how to use Maya yet.

Street fighter character :O :O.. sweet!... Great idea oatmeal.. but yea i do not see why anyone else should NOT take this on.. it seems like an awesome battle :D.. YOu could learn a lot with this.. especially if you took up someone like ryu or ken, with all that muscle.

As Kevin's and Tariq's female body battle seems to be dead I am opening another one. The female head I made last year needs a body anyway so I thought why not do it in a battle. I've been a bit too inactive for last couple of months so I'm hoping this could bring my motivation back too...

how about a battle or tournament like they have on http://10secondclub.org/ ? we would all be given the same sound clip (short one :D) and have to animate it? like a line from a movie or tvshow

all the other tournements have been modeling, and this would force us to learn animation.

for howard's idea, i think we would need to provide a model, that everyone would use so that people didn't end up deciding on the model, even of the comp was supposed to be about animation. Plus that way we could all jump right into learning blendshapes and things like that!

Well, I do modeling and texturing for a startup game company and its my first industry-related job other than being a game tester so I still feel noobish ;P

I wanted to narrow things down a bit like maybe what type of fanatasy char or maybe any sort specific fantasy theme to base our stuff off of. i was thinking maybe we could do More cartoony looking fantasy chars and boil it down to the char being a biped or something to that degree.

I got a better idea. You set up the rules. I don't care about any rules.

So...start a new thread and lets start. :)

hey 3d gurl and eagleking.. i'd love to see this battle happen :). Just post down the full ammount of information, including the rules and i will start up the thread for you two. I may not see it for a day or 2.. so if you want to start right away then make sure you add a poll to the challenge. Add one more day onto how long you want for voting purposes and have a great battle!

Topic : David vs. Goliath type scene. One big dude, one small, don't have to be human or even humanoid. No limits on weapons/armour if desired.
Modeling : Whatever
Texturing : Optional, as big and as many as necessary.
Time Limit: 4 weeks? More?
Extra: Show progress and wire frames.


I'd like to create a powerful scene with lots of atmosphere and have the viewer thinking "Jesus!, what's gonna happen next???", because one guy looks like he doesn't have a chance (maybe he doesn't :p).
You can create an environment for the battle too if you like.

At the end, show 2 renders of the two characters/creatures/whatever squaring off ABOUT to do battle.
