benchmarks
 

Hi guys.

Well i was just reading through the rather heated discussion about macs versus pcs and came up with an idea. I think it would be cool to have a scene uploaded by anyone say each week so that people can download it and benchamark their pc and the submit the results. sort of like on highend 3d but the scenes will be changed more often.

This would probably set straight the MAC .V. PC thing and just make it interestiong who's pc is the best. Not to say "oh your pc is crap" but to just see which pc (brand config and so on). Each pc is different and it would just be cool which type is good for say dynamics, caustics, ray tracing and so on.

Well i just think it would be a good addition to an already AWESOME community.

Sorry should have answered this sooner, its not a bad idea for now why not just create a thread about it in Maya chat you can upload your scene file to the thread if a lot of people reply with there results we can look at making it a more permanent part of the site and changing the file to be benchmarked more often.
