add some realism
Hi
Just finished my first maya project. :D But im not completely satisfied with it. It needs a little more realism. So here it is: http://www.contentdepot.dk/eilersen/ I'm very open for critic and suggestions. : ) Jakob |
As you already know, all materials wear in time. If the "new" look is not that important to you, add some wear to the fabric. take a look at a sofa in your house. You'll notice that the fabric of it is a bit worn out (less specular and maybe different in color) where people sat on it or leaned against it. moreover, Fabric is almost never without folds. Try adding some folds.
And, of course, you can always add some stains. |
hahaha, somebody I know has a couch that looks exactly like that..

eran > It have to look new, so I can't add wear. Maybe just a bit. But you are right about the stains.
My other problem is the texture. I have a texture that looks something like this: http://www.contentdepot.dk/simplymaya/texture_main.jpg But when I'm on a distance I can hardly get a feel of the texture. I understand why, but is there a way to make the texture more visible? billy_cat > great! If it looks exactly like that, it can't be that bad :D |
by the way. Click and drag on the image if you havn't allready figured...

Try maybe to change the difference in colors of the stripes or the specularity of each color.,
...oh, And adding folds won't make the couch look old. |
you are right. Thanks for the advice
