Nexu Creature

Im new to this site and this is my first post. Im trying to semi-recreate the Nexu creature off of Star Wars Episode II. Im not great at texturing and have only begun the head. Let me know what you think.

you need to smooth some parts of the head some more. would help to see the low poly and smooth poly version with wire. it seams to be something inbetween: too detailed for a low poly version, and not round enough for high poly. if you smooth this as is you end up with a bit too many poly (than actually needed) - and if you keep it it is not round enough.
but then, it is a excellent start. i did not see episode 2 so i cannot tell you how good you followed the original. and welcome to SM. |
good imagination there, keep at it and keep us posted. looks like the hamburger that eats you.. LOL

Thanks for the input, this is a smoothed version of the model however my low poly model has sections that are either very low poly or very high poly, im workin on that. Im off to London for about a week so Ill post when i get a chance. Thanks again!

Im not too happy with the teeth, they look to duplicated and quill like. Im gonna try and create several different types and put them into a molded set of gums.

that is looking better - now i see what you did. and maybe you need to straighten out the one vert on the left - or add some more random to the other "perfect" hamburger. in your case - if you want to keep the hard "nose" (the line in the middle) harder i would suggest you change the smooth contigunity value a bit down - i would say 0.7 or 0.8 - this way the the harder edges stay hard but get rounded. and to add more roundness without adding detail - i would tweak the subdivision level of smooth to 2.
and i like the teeth - even if they are a quick (duplicate?) hack ;) |
