How do you want them to look?

NNY Design 28-02-2004 06:20 PM

like a snow flake:)

That would be sprite particles, as you can assign an image or image sequance to them. The snow tutorial we have goes over this process.

Once you have a series of images or even just a single image you want to assign to sprites, you can use the Particles > Sprite Wizard, to assign them.

Their is actualy a website with snowflake designs, about 12 I thingk it was , cant remember the site but you can implement numerous sprite pics so the flakes dont look all the same. Dont remember how but their is a tut out their for it.

ok, thnx. I have another question and I'll ask it here just so I don't open a nother thread.
I have problems understanding how particles work in games. I waas wandering, when you use maya's particle system, what kind of particles can I use for modern games, like Half life 2, doom 3, Probably Serious Sam 2, etc.?

mtmckinley 29-02-2004 05:24 PM

if I'm not mistaken, sprites are the only particles used in games.
