Every 100 Years!

I witnessed it, did you? I took the screen shot! :attn:

honestdom 08-07-2009 02:47 PM

you can set that clock yourself, so anyone can get a screenshot and say that :P

btw, it was 1234567890 on the linux clock a couple of months back... i think that was the number, can't quite remember.

also, thats only once every 100 years in the states... yesterday was 8/7/9 hehe

elephantinc 08-07-2009 05:21 PM

yeah, most countries have the day and month the other way round, so not so special for the rest of us

Rhetoric Camel 08-07-2009 06:44 PM

well then on 7/8/9 you can view it.... so it happens twice in one year once every 100 years.... I missed it because of work and not paying attention for it, and I'll miss it next time because I'm American...

mastone 09-07-2009 03:02 PM

i would like to request a minute of silence for this great moment in the history of men :)

stwert 09-07-2009 05:30 PM

I missed it too... but I'll be keeping my eyes open on August seventh... day/month/year makes more sense to me too.
I could also point out that on September 9th we can witness 09:09:09 09/09/09

So it seems to me that these 100 year deals come around pretty darn often. :)

The Architect 10-07-2009 10:48 AM

You mean it already happended?

Its not in August?

It depends on how you format the date

elephantinc 10-07-2009 04:42 PM

the US way of formating the date really doesnt make much sense...

stwert 10-07-2009 04:56 PM

Well, in a way it does, because you would say July 10th, 2009... which is month, day, year.

elephantinc 10-07-2009 05:16 PM

I wouldnt, I would say 10th of July (Especially if I was saying it out-loud)

stwert 10-07-2009 05:19 PM

I see :)

elephantinc 10-07-2009 05:25 PM

I wonder why america ended up doing it differently to everyone else

stwert 10-07-2009 05:39 PM

I don't know... but as a Canadian, I'm always stuck in the middle with heavy American influence all the time, but with British roots. As a result half the population half the time ends up writing "my favourite grey color is the centre of honor"... can't keep it straight... I just end up spelling the way I feel like at the moment. Well, I guess this thread has gotten a bit off topic... sorry.

Same reason we drive on the right side of the road, measure in feet and inches, and measure speed in Miles Per Hour...
