This image was just a collection of stuff I modeled And arranged to get some idea of size texture and lighting. I like it what do you gus think. Is it gallery worthy.
And before you ask I know the coke can in the back doesnt fit the rest of the scene it was a test.

nice scene - I would remove some of the reflectivity of the back walls, as it looks like they are going through each other some what

nice scene though mate

I would suggest to crank up the sampling, if it can make it better.

And, it would be nice I think to show more of that coke can.

Here is another render

mtmckinley 12-02-2003 03:46 AM

it kinda looks like the objects are floating.

Kurt 12-02-2003 03:51 AM

Ya Mike I think it needs a bit of a shadow too.. Keep it up Joe=)

dannyngan 12-02-2003 08:56 AM

Looking good. Needs some more shadows or hints of shadows to create a sense of depth in the scene. Almost there... :)

kbrown 12-02-2003 01:50 PM

I agree with Kurt and Danny plus...

I don't know what it is but my hair raises up when I see checker texture used in a 3d scene by itself. No offence but it just looks so default... you know :) Adding some dirt and maybe grooves between the b&w squares would make it look a bit more interesting.

The objects looks nice though...

Ok I tried it again:p
I took all of your advise and tried this.

dbirider 13-02-2003 12:46 AM

looks good.. just reminds me of a bathroom a little bit :)

tariqrf 13-02-2003 01:01 AM

hey joe, why dont you add a shadow to one of your lights so that it will looks as if its "sitting" on the surface???... your coke bottle looks great...(the glass one)... and the rest of em too...

with a bit of touches it will look great..dont get me wrong.. it is good...

Ok I hope this is it!:D I have learned a bit doing this.

This started as just a test for sizing the objects in relation to eachother and getting an idea of the textures (thats why it was the default tile) but it ended up more of a mission.

ereitz 13-02-2003 05:07 AM

it's looking better and better. the next level would be to give it some character. it all seems kind of evenly spaced - it might be more interesting if it was a little more accidental, chaotic, realistic.

maybe if you dirtied it up a bit. cracked something, dented something, made it look more like a scene... i notice the bottles are empty with no caps but look perfectly scrubbed clean. Also why are there so many glass dishes on the table? if they're empty they should have some ice cream left over and a spoon or two in them. is it a diner? You've got lots of nice modeling, reflections, maps etc. here - take it to the next level :)

Scene is great! Models are awesome! Very clean.

The only thing that looks out of place to me are the coke bottles' color. Aren't they supposed to made from a slightly green-tinted glass?
