Joan of Arc
I started this yesterday from the Joan of Arc tutorial for 3DS Max (originally in french, but can be found in english here ) and I just wanted to show you guys what I've got so far.
http://blomkaal.bonuspater.dk/joa/joa_full.jpg http://blomkaal.bonuspater.dk/joa/joa_legs.jpg It's a really great tutorial (eventhough it's for Max :) ) that can be used easily for Maya. I was especially surprised how easy it was to create a head with the technique used here. Here's a shot of the head. It's my first one, and I think I pretty much nailed it... It's not perfect of cource, there's something about the lips and nose I'm not completely satisfied about, but it will have to do for now http://blomkaal.bonuspater.dk/joa/joa_head.jpg I'm not going to worry about the ear 'cause it'll be covered by hair anyway... |
Nice Start there, keep it coming!! :)
|
nice going! I have seen that tut! really nice! keep this up! looking forward to see some update :)
|
Small update, added the gloves. Gonna take a short time-out, then get started on the breatsplate :)

Here's an update and I'm off to bed...
About halfway done with the breastplate (almost done with page 3 of 6) and it's been a bitch! LOTS of trouble with adding faces between the titty decoration, and there are still a few areas that needs some tweaking... Oh yeah, the image :) http://blomkaal.bonuspater.dk/joa/joa_platetemp.jpg The two parts aren't combined, so there'll be some issues down the middle that, of course, will be taken care of... C&C anyone? |
hahaha...I like the way you talk! very nice man! You have motivated me to give it a go on this one too! I think you learn lots from it ;)
oh...ehh..isnt there going to be more detail on the hand...(the fingers ?) keep it rollin' dude...I like what you do! greEEtzzz RAnSicK |
The famous Michel Roger...
One thing you should do is to lower the ears. |
@Ransick the hands is made simple because it's a glove, but maybe I'll ad a little more detail to it... You really should try it out, it's a great tut (eventhough it's not a SM) :)
@Septrentrio yeah I know they're a bit high, but I'm not sure if I'll change it... Don't wanna risk messing everything up when they're gonna be covered by hair anyway... |

Just added a few edges to the plate... What du you think? Go or no go?

I've recently done the head from that tut
here's mine.... |
That looks really good! I really like the nose and the lips, but maybe you should work a little on the eyelids...
|
I wanted to keep it as low poly as possible so it could be used in a game so I haven't smoothed it at all.
|
I see... How many poly's is it?
