Joan of Arc

I started this yesterday from the Joan of Arc tutorial for 3DS Max (originally in french, but can be found in english here ) and I just wanted to show you guys what I've got so far.

It's a really great tutorial (eventhough it's for Max :) ) that can be used easily for Maya. I was especially surprised how easy it was to create a head with the technique used here.

Here's a shot of the head. It's my first one, and I think I pretty much nailed it... It's not perfect of cource, there's something about the lips and nose I'm not completely satisfied about, but it will have to do for now

I'm not going to worry about the ear 'cause it'll be covered by hair anyway...

Small update, added the gloves. Gonna take a short time-out, then get started on the breatsplate :)

Here's an update and I'm off to bed...

About halfway done with the breastplate (almost done with page 3 of 6) and it's been a bitch! LOTS of trouble with adding faces between the titty decoration, and there are still a few areas that needs some tweaking...

Oh yeah, the image :)

The two parts aren't combined, so there'll be some issues down the middle that, of course, will be taken care of...

C&C anyone?

hahaha...I like the way you talk! very nice man! You have motivated me to give it a go on this one too! I think you learn lots from it ;)

oh...ehh..isnt there going to be more detail on the hand...(the fingers ?)

keep it rollin' dude...I like what you do!

The famous Michel Roger...
One thing you should do is to lower the ears.

blomkaal 20-07-2004 08:05 AM

@Ransick the hands is made simple because it's a glove, but maybe I'll ad a little more detail to it... You really should try it out, it's a great tut (eventhough it's not a SM) :)

@Septrentrio yeah I know they're a bit high, but I'm not sure if I'll change it... Don't wanna risk messing everything up when they're gonna be covered by hair anyway...

Finished the plate (for now at least):

here's mine....

That looks really good! I really like the nose and the lips, but maybe you should work a little on the eyelids...

I wanted to keep it as low poly as possible so it could be used in a game so I haven't smoothed it at all.

blomkaal 20-07-2004 02:00 PM

I see... How many poly's is it?
