need a mel script
 

Can anyone provide me with the "detachSurface" melscript which works in maya 6.5.This melscript cuts any polygonal object into any no.of desired pieces,by selecting faces.
I'm trying to cut a polygonal Aeroplane into 7-8 pieces,wherein I need the script,which works in maya 6.5.
plz help me out.

Why don't you just use maya's extract and separate tools? or try writing the script yourself

I almost forgot about the extract tool...
I just kept on using the seperate tool which gave me a error message.
It worked.
