Also be aware there are 1000's of tutorials and DVD's out there still showing you how to do stuff in Maya 5, 6, or 7. Autodesk amde major changes to a lot of the UI and this seems to cause a lot of confusion for a lot of people learning Maya on version 8, 8.5 or 2008.
To help clear things up: Render Globals is the old name/term used for what is now Render Settings. A lot of the settings in Render Settings have been moved about and to ammend theses setting refer to the Help files for your version. They are useful and no one ever uses them anymore, press F1 people there is a world of information in their and you should not rely on the internet to solve issues like this one. It all goes back to the old saying: R.T.F.M Glad you are sorted tho :) |
R@nSiD, I did RTFM, it said RENDER GLOBALS
And had images of windows that said RENDER GLOBALS And, everything on the internet says RENDER GLOBALS So, I googled RENDER GLOBALS to find a window that said RENDER GLOBALS which doesnt ****ing exist. This is my first time using any 3D software, so I didn't read the change log or anything ALL of the help files said RENDER GLOBALS and all of the images in the hlep files said RENDER GLOBALS So who the hell do I ask for support if the rest of the world says Render Globals, well my first ****ing though was, why not post on a forum, IN THE NOOBS SECTION where people are supposed to be decent are forgiving or DUMBASS MISTAKES LIKE MINE I don't think it's fair at all to tell me to RTFM. Blah blah blah [insert size of e-peen here] |
I donno if you have solved it yet though, you cannot see it because it is under "Raytrace/Scanline Quality", expand the arrow.
[EDIT] Ohh you solved it, :) |
What version of maya are you running?
Also if you get menus missing, and they are missing, not just somewhere that you cant see, then changing the DPI settings to 96 sorts out the problem. |
